Reduced budget, plz help again $400

sup guys, my budget was reduced due to some problems i had..... and now i have a reduced amount of money to make my build haha, but still have hope


approx i will buy the parts in 1 week maximum

Parts i already have: Corsair TX650w, and HD 5850( got the gpu from an uncle who was not using it anymore )

The main usage will be gaming, im not interested in competing with the higher end systems, i just want to always have playable frame rates, i dont care if i get 60 frames in one game and a more expensive system gets 120, the difference is not noticeable, but i dont want to be under 30 fps either haha

Patriot DDR3 4gig Ram 44$

Seagate 500gig HDD 40$

Rosewill Destroyer Mid tower 50$

Shaves off a few bucks and the ram comes with 10 MIR.

no problems to play games at 1680x1050?? will that cpu bottleneck a faster card??

Yeah no probs at that resolution 1680x1050, I use the same resolution. Runs Mass Effect 2 at max settings with AF 4 and AA 4 I believe. Runs just fine. But I think that's because I OC'd it to 1000/1050 (5870 clocks) so it ran fine.

The games I played with it on stock were Mafia 2 (Maxed), CSS (Maxed out to 200 fps most of the time), TF2 (Maxed, reached about 120 FPS).

Yep just highlighting that the $500 Dec 2010 SBM with Rana X3 +768M GTX 460 has gaming benchmarks for a resolution higher i.e 1920 x 1080 than planned ^^

The problem is that i cant oc the card, is a non ref version haha, just at the max the CCC lets me, is there too much performance diff??

There is, you don't have to OC it though. I just did it cause I felt like it. I'm just saying that that's what you could do. Don't do the CCC OC it changes basically nothing. Just leave it stock. Runs cooler that way so your fan doesn't have to be at like 75% like mine when I OC'd

Hahaha yeah, that's the only thing. The Antec 300, or Antec Illusion is sweet. Get the illusion since it gives you some extra fans.

yeah now-a-days its really easy to make a decent build. Take my 450$ and 600$ build for example. Or Batchuka's builds. Or just all of us in general.

True true, though most things are actually quite cheap now. The 5850 is only about 170$ off newegg. Or 180 ish. It's a really solid card too.
