So, I'm upgrading some parts on my work computer. This is mainly going to be used for Photoshop and other design/illustration programs. I am going to purchase two 4gb sticks of 1600mhz ram, an intel i5 2500 processor (not K since I won't be overclocking), and a new motherboard.
The question I have relates to the motherboard. At home I have roughly the same specs except with a 2500k processor since this is a machine I overclock and game with. The motherboard I have at home is a MSI P67A-GD65 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130574
I love the motherboard, but I need to keep this build as inexpensive as possible so I am considering a much less expensive motherboard, such as this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130584 , which has a H67 chipset.
I was wondering what I would stand to lose going with a significantly less expensive chipset. I understand that I won't have usb 3.0, onboard video, 1600mhz ram speeds and any overclocking headroom, but that stuff I'm perfectly fine with. Is there anything else that I should be wary of? Or, is this a pretty decent build.
Anyway, thanks for any input you've got.
