What 460 GTX tomshardware used in their article "Radeon HD 6970 And 6950 Review:

what GTX 460 did they use? the GTX 460 SE (which has 1GB but has 288 cube cores) or the GTX 460 1GB (with 336 cube cores)? Also will my e8400 duel core become a bottle neck if i were to SLI 2 460 GTX's?

as for the bottleneck i suspect it would however am unable to find benchmarks for proof with your specific chip. i believe you would not bottleneck one but once sli is in the mix you'll be hindered. however as a next upgrade path for later mobo/cpu/likely ram they's be a good jumping off point... also make sure your psu can handle it, what kind of psu do you have

    *add*

i cannot reccomend the specific card they used, ecs. while it is a good card with a good cooler they really need to brace the pcb as there are many reports of bent pcb boards from to much weight by the massive cooler his will cause failure over time

I have an Antec Truepower 850 WATT, but i was hoping to also use my old 8800 GT as a physics card. Would this be possible?
  3. Yes, you could power everything.
    I'm running a quad, 2 sli 460's on a Antec 650.

Do you have your e8400 o/c, the higher the better to minimize cpu/memory bottleneck.
Faster memory speeds/timings all helps. http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=158727
  4. ^ +1 850watt should power it all just hope your case has decent ventilation

and +1 for overclocking it will help you lessen the bottleneck if its not already done, just make sure you have a good cpu cooler and case ventilation
