Hello,I have a gateway LX6810-01, when I bought it the hard drive crashed and was replaced with a TB and I also have a second hard drive 500GB neither of these were on the system when purchased. I have tried to use the factory disks and cannot restore the system to factory setting. Is there a way I can do this?

Hello tazziac2008;

The Gateway restore disk is trying to use the recovery partition that was installed on the failed hard drive.
Gateway was not thoughtful enough to provide you with the actual Windows install CD/DVD.
Since you don't have the original HDD available you're not able to restore the OS.

I believe you should be able to contact Gateway and have them send you actual install disks.
You may be charged a fee for that service though.
