Whenever I shut down my computer for the night and turn it on again the next morning, there's a rattling sound inside the computer case. This only happens when I shut down. If I leave it on or make it go to sleep (when it sleeps, all the fans are off) the rattling doesn't happen and everything runs fine when I wake it up and the fans spin up again. It only happens if I do a shut down.

The only way to make the rattling go away is for me to unplug the power to the PSU and replug. Is it a problem with the fans? or the motherboard? And why would unplugging the power and replugging it fix it?

Yep sounds like somethings up with one of the fans. Either a broken / chipped blade
Or something thats hitting the blade until it spins up then it may be moving what ever was touching it away from it.
Also could be out of balance this happens to older fans or cheap ones sometimes.
I would power it down give it a good cleaning then restart with the side panel open and see what you can see.
