Hello, I'm thinking to upgrade my whole system except my 3 hdd's, monitor and psu

My current system is:
CPU: E8400 (was at 3.93 GHZ) @ stock
CPU Cooling: Arctic Freezer Pro 7 Rev.2
GPU: PNY GTS 250 1GB (was going to SLI but now can't find any non-eco 1 gb gddr 3 card on the market on the market other than ebay)
MOBO: ASUS P5N-D
RAM: Corsair ValueSelect 2x2GB DDR2
PSU: CIT 750W
HDD: 1TB, 500GB, 160GB SATA 3GB/s
Case: Casecom Shiny Piano Black (not good) replacing with either Zalman Z-9 Plus or Casecom 6788
Monitor:Chimei CMV223D 22"

I play Crysis, all the Half-life's, FSX, FS2004, CS:S, Race 07, GTR Evolution, Race ON, Railworks 2, Fallout 3 (I'm getting New Vegas) Portal 1 and 2 when it comes out.

I was thinking about the Sandy Bridge platform, I know about the sata issues with them, I've seen on youtube an i7-2600k overclocked to 5.2GHZ on air which is amazing. I was thinking of getting the z68 chipset when it comes out too. Or I could skip LGA 1155 and go with LGA 2011 at the end of this year with the Core i7 Extreme.

Thanks In Advance plzwork

Why do you want to upgrade, where do your current setup come up short?

What is the primary usage of the PC (I would assume gaming, but always good to get confirmation)?

What is the budget for the upgrade?

What is the time frame for the upgrade?

Answer these questions and you will likely get more/better help.

Edit: Actually, fill out the How To Ask For New Build Advice as that should make you list all the info we need.

Sorry I did read it I was jumping back and forth from my pc and my food,
I want to upgrade because I had this setup for 3 years now except the GPU I had a 8500 GT before. My Budget would be about £300 to £400. Time frame: about 2-4 months. I use the pc to game. In FSX ive looked around for recommended settings and I had found some for an E6600 and a x1900 card but they are still a bit laggy on my system. Crysis. Doesn't everyone just want to play Crysis on very high at good frames. I've wanted go quad core for some time now I was looking at the q9550 or q9650 before the second gen core i3, i5 and i7s but I really like to go lga 1155 or 2011 because lga 775 is starting to die out like socket 478 did a few years ago even though you can still buy 478 cpus (there are only 4 different models on ebuyer) and mobos but no one cares about 478 anymore.

I'd sell or donate the entire system and start from scratch.....anything other than the 1 TB HD and monitor will likely be a drag on new system. That GTS 250 though would make an excellent dedicated PhysX card. Of course, we won't see the re-issued sandy bridge mobos to late march / early april.

Your 400 pounds is about $650 to me and I am afraid I couldn't do much with that. $900 (550 pounds) is about the cheapest build I'd recommend:

All I can hear is my echo now ........ anyway i've found a barebones by 3XS Systems of an i5 2500k overclock to 4.7ghz, an akasa venom cpu cooler but for another £33.21 i can get the h70, the p8p67 and 4gb of xms3 ddr3 1600mhz for £430

I say get another GTS 250 on eBay. It shouldn't be a problem if you buy from a power seller, but if you go with someone who's only solid like 10 things you may be asking for it. You could also just get a GTX 560 and use the 250 for PhysX. That's a setup you could carry over to your Sandy Bridge build, which I assume will be soon. If you can overclock your CPU to 3.9GHz there isn't much point in buying a currently overpriced quadcore LGA 775 CPU so that will just have to hold you till you upgrade the rest of your system.
