Didn't I answer this in the other thread? The quad will beat the Pentium 4.
 
The quad. You just cannot compare raw clock speeds between any C2Q and a Pentium IV.

Based on some benchmarking PC Pro (a British PC magazine) did a few years ago, a Conroe E6600 (2.4 GHz) was about 40% faster than a 965. The Yorkfield/Wolfdale microarchitecture is about 10% faster than the Conroe.

That is on a per core basis.
