Hi. I just bought ddr2 1gb, i tried on both of slots but it still shows me 512 mb of that ram. Also i have installed "sisoftware sandra" and checked the ram slots and it says that my pc support 1 gb of ram. Also i have installed CPU-Z and it shows that ram is type DDR 2 , size 1024, working on DRAM Frequency 266.2 Mhz (on my ram module it is written 533 mhz so i think that could be problem) but when i go right click on my computer and properties it shows only half. Also on the first screen after starting pc it shows like 512 mb of memory. When I go into bios, and go in DRAM settings there are only options of 200 and 266 mhz and I think "SPD" was option too. Please help me here.

P.S. I will add pictures of cpu-z and sisoftware sandra with my memory specifications, although i have inserted on second slot my old ram of 256 mb on 266 mhz which works correctly.

I believe its saying you can have a max of 1GB total, only 512 mb per dimm slot, which is why the 1gb is showing as 512. the dimm controller cannot read anything greater

but is there any chance if bios is updated to newer version, to have options about working ram module on 533? because there are only 200 and 266 mhz options in bios. And if it is not possible, could be any damage if i use this module of 1 gb on this way? (showing like 512 mb)

ok thank you on responding.. probably i will get two ddr2 512mb and put on two slots so it would be up to max potential as it is shown in those checking softwares. Thank you a lot.
