So I just ordered my case and my processor. I ordered the 2500k, and because it was less then I thought I was going to spend, I wanted to go all out on my MOBO. I am kinda set on the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z LGA 1155. Would love feedback thoughts, and other suggestions. Any others I should be looking at?

I was looking at that board and really want it but I know myself and as soon as Ivy Bridge, new motherboards for Ivy and Kepler come out I will want to upgrade again. What kind of graphics cards are you going to put in there. If you are going single card it would be overkill for that but if you want dual or even tri Sli then it is a great board. Here is a great review I read about that one: http://www.guru3d.com/article/asus-maximus-iv-extreme-z-review/25

If you don't need all the extra features of Z68 then there is the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme P67 and the ASUS Sabertooth P67 (save about $140 over your pick on Newegg) here are reviews for both: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/ASUS-Maximus-IV-Extreme-Motherboard/1356 and http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/asus_sabertooth_p67_motherboard_review,18.html

If you don't mind Micro ATX and using one graphics card then I would go with this: ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3 and here is a review: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2011/07/18/asus-maximus-iv-gene-z/1

I am currently looking for a motherboard too so I hope others will reply.

Thanks for the response. I am starting with 1 7970 to start and kind of working from there. I dont know if I will Crossfire or not, but its nice to the option without having to first replace my mobo. I read of issues with the P67, but I havent really looked into Sabertooth, but will do so now.
