$2200 New Gaming Build Help!

Looking for a new gaming PC Built my last one but wasn't all that great. I want to build another one a better one but i always have trouble with the specs of mother boards and Video cards. I would like to spend about 2200 no higher then 3000 American Dollars. Below is my old Computer anything i could salvage out of that guy would be nice but the mother board is on its last legs. Any help would be nice.

My current Computer:

EVGA 122-CK-NF68-T1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard (One Ram slot is broken)

Geforce 8800 GTS SSC

3.0 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo

OCZ 700W PSU

3 Corsair ddr2 ram

WD VelociRaptor 150g

24 inch Sceptre screen

All in a Antec Nine Hundred mid tower

Running Win 7 Pro 64 bit

    3GB DDR2 - reuse
    PSU - reuse
    hdd/odd/case/LCD - reuse

    Thanks for reply but my budget can get me better sutff spent the morning looking at I-7s whats the best mother board to use with a I-7?
