Approximate Purchase Date: This month.

Budget Range: $500-$600

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, surfing the internet, watching movies/TV shows

Parts Required: CPU, graphics card, motherboard, RAM, and maybe a power supply

Preferred Website for Parts: newegg.com

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: Intel CPU, Nvidia graphics card

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 1600x900

Additional Comments: So as stated above I only want to purchase 4 new parts (hopefully not a power supply). Right now I have these two parts selected:
CPU - Intel Core i5-2400 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074
Graphics - GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127510
That leaves $100-200 more money for a motherboard and RAM (2x2GB sticks).

There are 3 things I came here for advice on:
1. Do my CPU and graphics work well together or would there be any bottlenecking?
2. What would be a decent motherboard/RAM to go with these two components for under $200?
3. Can I keep my current power supply? ENERMAX Liberty ELT500AWT 500W ATX12V - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194003

I couldn't help it. You made me click your links.
There will be no P67 Sandy Bridge motherboards available for you to complete you build this month.
The could be available in the later part of March or in early April.

Do you need a Plan B? i5-760 & P-55 motherboard?

That's a very doable build :) That psu of yours will work just fine for that vid card, and your looking at $100 or even less for a 1155 H67 mobo with a single PCI-E slot...there will be lots of them at that price range in another month...maybe less. But it's definitely worth waiting for imo.

I'm open to changing what I have picked out. I don't know much about sandy bridge. Would it be worth waiting for motherboards that support sandy bridge or id it not much of a difference from the i5-760?
