first of all, sorry if this is in the wrong section.

so my gig is:

i5 750 @ 2.66 quad
xfx radeon hd 5850
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600

up until now ive used a 17in monitor at 1280x1024 and have had all games maxed out and played smooth. on black friday i got a 23in 1920x1080 monitor. now a bunch of my games maxed out are just unplayable and/or choppy. i realize why it would get choppy, i just dont know what i need to upgrade...

more RAM?
second 5850?
better cpu?

thanks,

jon

You probably should OC your i5, but for the most part, most games should run well on that resolution still. What games are you having troubles with?

Start by running 3dmark Vantage, and let me know the results at performance. Just to make sure it's running properly. If you use 06 or 11, I won't know for sure if your results are good or bad.

your cpu is not the issue. If your getting lower fps after increasing resolution, the vidoe card is the problem. Try turn AA off to get more fps. If you really need AA on, upgrade video card or get another 5850 to crossfire them.
