I am looking to build a new Gaming Rig with a budget of around $1400. I haven't build a new PC in about 4 years so I am not entirely sure if I've done well or not. Any suggestions on what I've picked would be great. Here are the components that I've selected so far.

ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Cheap burner
COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel - Cheap Case
Western Digital AV-GP WD10EURS 1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - Bulk Storage
SAPPHIRE 100312SR Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity
SILVERSTONE OP850 850W ATX 12V 2.2 & EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor
OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive - OS Drive

If there is something better/cheaper please let me know. Thank you for the help.

If you don't need an o/s (Windows) just subtract it from this build. These 1155 P67 boards are due to be on the shelves in the next 3-4 weeks. There are some benchmarks / reviews of these Sandy Bridge cpu's down towards the bottom of this post.

This build is set up to add another one of those factory o/c gtx 560's in SLI if you so choose. This includes Windows 7, after market h/s, etc...

I was hoping to order the parts this coming week so I can build it next week. I saw the new i5 2500k for sale but didn't see any motherboards at the time. I guess I still have a couple of weeks till some come out. Oh the budget I am looking at is around $1400-1600 with shipping.

Thanks for the extensive reply Why_Me.
