USING LOTS OF MEMORY

Hello,I HAVE AN ALL NEW SYSTEM W/ASUS M5A87 MB, AMD FX 4100 PROCESSOR,NEW KINGSTON 4 GB DDR3,NEW SATA 2 RADEON 5450 VIDEO CARD & NEW MAXTOR SATA 320 GB DRIVE. RUNNING XP PRO,THE PROBLEM IS IF I LOOK ATAFEW DIFFERENT ITEMS ON A WEB PAGE LIKE E-BAY ITS NOT LONG BEFORE MY ANTI-VIRUS AVG POPS UP A MESSAGE USING LARGE AMOUNTS OF MEMORY USUALLY 560 + MB'S & RECOMMENDS I CLOSE WEB PAGE & LEAVE THE INTERNET TO RECOVER MEMORY. I EMPTY MY TEMP FILES OFTEN INCLUDING IE EXPLORER WEB PAGE CACHE. IS THIS A SIGN OF BAD MEMORY OR A BUG IN XP PRO OR SOMETHING ELSE? ANY HELP OR ADVISE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. JRJ 1950

  1. You don't have an issue. If those messages bother you, get a different antivirus application or configure AVG to stop popping up annoying messages.
  2. I also recommend uninstalling AVG and installing Microsoft Securities Essentials in its place.

    AVG monitors applications memory utilization and it warns the user whenever it significantly increases. The warning can be disabled.
