GTX 460 help

hello guys, today i just got a EVGA 460gtx and i just noticed that when i unplug the DVI cable (with pc still on) and plug it back into another monitor y wont get back on, i have to restart the pc to get the signal back again... is this normal? im sorry if this is noobish, is my first Nvidia card... thanks in advance! and happy holidays !

This is normal. When you add (change) new hardware you have to restart to allow system to set up new hardware. This is true for all new hardware except hardware designated for plug and play, like most USB hardware because the plug and play feature is built into it.

i guess it is... is just that with my integrated graphics card i didnt have to restart everytime i changed monitor (HD4290 IGP) but thanks rockyjohn
