So i am building a new PC. Have a laptop but need a PC to do video editing and some gaming (i.e FSX). Want to stay around $1k for the setup. I would order from newegg, amazon or go to microcenter (have oen by my house). I need firewire but I am just thinking of running a cable from the back

So here's what I came up with

Also looking for a suggestion for a cheaper SSD for OS, apps and scratch space

Look at this SSD: OCZ Agility 2 2.5" 60GB for $109 AR.

Consider a cooler to get the best overclock out of that CPU: GELID Solutions Tranquillo for $43 Also, check your MicroCenter to see if they still have the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus Universal CPU Cooler for $23. I think it goes off sale, so buy it tomorrow if you can.

I'll let WR2 comment on the video card/monitor resolution requirements. I suspect that you may need a little more horsepower in your GPU, but he can advise. If so, here are two cards for only about $20 more, either of which might work. PowerColor AX5770 1GBD5-H Radeon HD 5770 1GB for $100 After Rebate or HIS H577FK1GD Radeon HD 5770 for $100 AR

Keep in mind it is end of the month, and sales and rebate end, so these recommendations will change on Tuesday.
