Is there anyway I can upgrade my chipset?

Hi,

I have a small desktop, specs are;

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
System Manufacturer: Gateway
System Model: SX2801
Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5500 @ 2.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Card name: Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
DAC type: Internal

I'm wondering if there's anyway I can upgrade my chip set to play Starcraft II? I'm pretty new to hardware.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  1. your chipset is integrated onto your mobo, its buying a new mobo or putting up with it I'm afraid, if you fill out http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261222-13-build-advice we could help design a new build to suit your needs and budget,

  2. You should be able to just add a video card and be good to go. For a some video card's you may also need to upgrade your Power Supply. A Budget would be helpful, but at an absolute minimum, You could get a 5450 for around $25-$35. It all depends at what resolution and settings you want to play.
