Hello,

Toms Hardware community, I am looking at putting together a custom computer for gaming, these are links for the parts that I want to buy if anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. Also note that i will upgrade my hard drive at some point but i am more focused on getting the key parts (mo bo, cpu, G card and ram ect) to be the best they can on my budget, Cheers!

I wouldn't waste the money on the AMD 6-core. Very few (if any) software applications are programmed to use 6-cores, and few even use 4. You will NOT see any noticeable improvements (if any exist) by using a 6-core over a 4 core.

I would suggest the new Sandy Bridge CPUs, since the cost of the CPU and the mobo will rival the cost of you AMD build, but you'll get far better performance. The SB CPUs outpace the i7-900s, making them the BEST CPUs on the market.

Your RAM, GPU, and case are all great for this build.
