I plan on getting a radeon 6950, probably the 2gb version, sometime in the next two weeks. Problem is, I'm not sre what kind of case to get that will fit it. Also, I've heard that some 750 watt power supplies won't be good enough to power it. According to what I read the card is 10 and 3/ 4 inches long. The case I was looking for supported 10 and 1/2 inch long cards.
I would appreciate any advice as to what case and power supply I could get. my budget for just the case and the psu is 300 dollars.
Btw, I will get an i5 and a p67 somehing-or-other motherboard.

Solution
You might want to consider a COOLER MASTER HAF 912
You can remove the middle drive bays for longer video cards if you upgrade later.

other cases:

COOLER MASTER HAF 922
Antec Three Hundred Black
Antec Three Hundred Illusion
Antec Nine Hundred Two V3

power supply:
CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-750HX
That will be enough for crossfire 6950 and is modular

others:
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 V2( for single card, it is cheaper than the 550w - isn't that weird?)
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2

You can also get the equivalent seasonic or antec power supply.

If it was me I would get the HAF 912 $59.99 + corsair hx750 $139.99 = $199.98 - $25 MIR

.:Edit:.

I forgot to add it depends on...

Cases?

Pretty much any enthusisasts case (ATX Full, some Mid.) Find one you like the look of and check the dimensions. Its about personal taste (sort by price, go from there - I like the Fractal Designs and Cooler Master designs, sensible layout and lots of space

Mobo
Get the Z68, its cheaper and almost identical to the P67 but does some extra funky stuff that you might as well have seeing as you will be saving money at the same time.

For your PSU check This PSU Calculator from newegg.com I think you will find the one you have chosen will be fine

Ed cos i got my dimensions wrong :s

A good 550w to 600w should be great for powering the 6950 2gb.And also yes the reference version is very long however the non reference version is a bit shorter. It depends on the version you have chosen.

The reference version should be around 290mm in length and also you should give us a budget for your case. How much would you be likely to spend.

If you list some cases that you like, we could let you know if a 6950 will fit it. They call for a 500W min PSU, so any good quality name brand 750W would be plenty: Corsair is a good manufacturer to look at. Others here could give you better advice than I can on that.

I forgot to add it depends on the which 6950 card you get there is this HIS card Card Dimensions:10.04" x 4.96" x 1.65" which would fit into the case you wanted

Then there are other like this ASUS which is 11.7" x 5"
