Greetings,
I am doing some upgrades to my current box and I am wondering if there is a power supply compatibility chart for my motherboard. I am confused about the connectors. I know I can use either a 20+4 pin or a 24pin setup but what I am confused about is the other ATX power connector which is 4+4 which I know won't fit this board since it takes a 2+2. The 20+4pin supplies also come with a 4+4 ATX power connector(Why?). And all the 24pin only come with the 4+4 ATX connectors and not a 2+2. If you could include a chart or shed come insight I would really appreciate it.

MOBO: TA790gx 128m
RAM: 2gb ddr2 667
Video: Radeon HD5450 1gb ddr3
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+

Thanks!

The board will use just one of the 4 + 4 connectors. You know wrong, there is nothing like a 2 + 2 Connector. it's either 4 or 4 + 4 or 8 + 8.
The Mobo will use that 24 Pin connector at one end and the other 4 pin ATX power will be used from the separate 4 + 4 pins that your PSU has.
Plus, there is a 4 Pin Molex connector on the Mobo just above the PCIe x 16 Slot that'll also use the a direct Molex connector from the PSU to power an extra PCIe card if it's inserted on the board.
