I need to know if PC2-4200 will replace PC2-3200 in an empty slot on a laptop. The manufacturer states to use PC2-3200 but I can not find any anywhere on the Web.

With 512 Mb soldered onto the board, I need to know if PC2-4200 running at the same 400 Mhz clock speed, if they will run together and be compatible?

Please help if you have knowledge or experience in this area.

Thanks,

Tommy Joe

PC2-4200 will not support if there is another memory module which is PC2-3200. You have to use same speed ram or underclock pc2-4200 from bios and match with pc2-3200's speed if your laptop's bios let you do that.

Thanks for the reply. From what you say, it can not ge done because there is no provision in the BIOS to perform any clocking.
