Hey,
I've just picked up an ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 Motherboard as the beginning of an upgrade to a DX11 capable machine. I was wondering whether I should just straight out upgrade my graphics card from a Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 to a Sapphire Radeon HD 6970 or if it's worth upgrading my cpu first? (Currently an Athlon II X4 620 (Overclocked to 3.2Ghz)) Also I'm running 4gb of Elixir RAM and was wondering if it was worth upgrading to this Corsair CMX8GX3M4A1600C9 8GB (4x2GB) DDR3?

Suggestions appreciated :D,
Cheers.

On the GPU, I would say possibly. If your resolution is 19x10 or higher then probably. I went from an overclocked 512MB Toxic edition 4870 to a 5870 and saw a nice improvement, and imagine your jump would be similar.
On the Athlon II @3.2, I have assembled a few rigs with the 3.2ghz Propus and while they weren't gaming rigs I thought they felt fairly good. Unless you are doing a lot of strategy gaming you are probably good there for a while.
It's questionable how much you really get out of 8GB vs 4GB in games, but it's cheap right now and DDR3 will be around for a while. Definitely not 4x2GB though, only get a 2x4GB kit, preferably low voltage and lower latency if you can afford it. like this...

Been building with this kit. You don't actually need heatspreaders, and the black PCB makes these look not bad at all.

1.5V AND CL7 for $105 is a nice deal.

Thanks for the reply mate you've saved me some money on a processor for now :D I'm currently running a BenQ LED @ 1920*1080 and another monitor @ 1600*900 so I think I may just pick up a new card this w/e!
