Cant get hdmi vga to work on msi h61ma-e35

Hello,
I cant get my MSI H61MA-E35 on my desktop to work through hdmi or VGA on my 32" tv!
my laptop just plugs in and works from the get go!
any help on the matter?

Do you have the intergrated onboard video chip enabled? What do you have for a cpu ? What are the other components?

My specs are: Intel i5-2400, corsair xms3 1600mhz 8 gb vengance, evga geforce gtx560
