Is the GTX 570 still the sweet spot now that amd's responded?

No SLI or xfire aside, is this still the bang for the buck OC-able card for 2500x1600 resolution now that AMD's answered with their 69xx lineup?

In my opinion I would say yes, In fact, I am buying one on Thursday after weighing out my options. I have come to the conclusion that the 570 will be my best choice and in the future, if i want to add in another 570 for SLI, I will be ready to do so...

Upon further research, it seems that the 6970s are faster at higher resolution due to the increased ram at 2gb. I'm running a 30 inch lcd at 2500x1600.

The price difference is negligible, about 10 bucks. Is the gtx 570 still the best bang at that resolution?

At that resolution, it's about a 5% difference.

Prices on Newegg for the 6970 range from $370-$390. The GTX570's range from $350-$360, ~5.5% cheaper.

Thanks for that informatin Matt17secs. That is really useful. If I may ask, where did you pull that chart from? I'd like to compare the 6950 to that list. It's 50 dollars cheaper than the 570, even though it's only a little slower. Way I see it, I could oc it to the point it'd nearly match a 570. Also, it has 2 gigs of ram so would still be useful at higher resolutions.

Thanks!
