5670 on 300w PSU

Hi guys I'm new here and I wanted to know can a 5670 run on my comp with my psu its 300w and has 19 amp on the 12 v rail. I know the amps is a bit low but my comp is very un power hungry here are its specs. Thanks so much for the help.

Just make sure if the motherboard has a PCIexpress x 16 version 1.x slot that you buy a version 2.0 card not 2.1

You'll be fine. The HD 5670 doesn't consume more than 30w of power under normal gaming conditions. If you were to use a FurMark to stress your card then it would probably go up to 40w - 45w. Overall your PC doesn't really use much power.


Additionally, do not bother getting the 1GB version since the 512MB of RAM does not improve performance (see review below):

Thanks i keep worrying about the amps everyone says thats most important but seeing as how my system doesn't use much power I guess there is room for the GPU. Btw howmuch amps is used by everything but the cpu and gpu?

With 19 amps you have just on the +12 volt rail 19x 12= 202watts so you are fine.

I stand corrected it is 228watts just on the +12volt rail the rest of the 300watts are on the +5 and 3.3 volt rails.

+12VA max 13A, +12VB max 7A. Not to exceed 220 watts.
