Do I need GPU upgrade?

Hi, I'm currently using 2x HD 4850 1GB in Xfire, I'm wondering if I need new upgrade for the new games that are coming out. I'm not looking forward for a CPU upgrade. My CPU is C2Q Q6600 at 3.3ghz. I'm wondering what the performance of my build is similar to. would upgrading to a single card work best? or adding another ATI GPU work best?

Thanks

More about upgrade
  1. It all depends on the games you are planning to play and the resolution you expect to play them at, considering some new games still use as early as DX 9 you might not want to upgrade, but again it all depends on your situation,
  2. You have a good system.
2 4850s can can handle almost all games fine with decent settings. What resolution do you play at ?
  3. I currently use 1920x1080. It's almost 2 years now, I thought my rig would be very outdated already. I play games like SC2 Crysis etc.

SC2 doesn't benefit from either SLI or CF.
    2 4850s perform like a 4870X2(Which performs like 5870),so a card like
GTX 570/HD 6970 would be a good upgrade.
  5. I see, thanks Maziar that helps a lot. You think I should just carry on Xfiring but with 6970 as primary and 4850 as secondary? or just single card? I think my 700w PSU is a good enough for it

Those two cards cannot be run together in crossfire.
  8. Maziar is crazy. A 4870x2 is faster than a 5870..

In a crossfire enabled game perhaps so, but not in the case of SC2.

4870X2 maybe faster than 5870 in games that support CF but they pretty much run neck and neck. And in games that don't benefit from CF,5870 is faster.
