Need opinions on prebuilt for gaming/photo editing

I'm looking at a prebuilt that has:
Processor Processor: Intel Core i7-870 Processor (8MB Cache, 2.93GHz)
Hard Disk Drive 1.5 TB SATA II Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Memory 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz (4 DIMMs)
Media Bay 16X DVD +/- RW Optical Drive
Video 1024MB ATI Radeon HD 5770 GDDR5

We're looking at medium gaming (STO, Fable 3 - if it ever comes out, Civ 5), photoshop use, general internet (including flash games), email, office productivity suite

Didn't do a build your own and decided months later to just buy a pre-built.

For everything you listed it's looking OK. Are you getting a good price?
What resolution are you gaming at? If it's 1920x1080 you might want to think about a video card upgrade.

How soon are you looking to buy? You should see some nice Sandy Bridge systems available soon.

Hi WR2-

well, I'm look at a refurbished dell 8100 ... and it's under 900.

I was thinking of adding a refurbished ST2410 24-inch Full HD Widescreen Monitor which does have 1920 x 1080.

Things to think about.

Oh, and I'm looking to buy something before my tax refund gets frittered away on other things; so pretty soon.

That sounds wayyyyyyyyyyyy too high for a refurb Dell 8100. Is it on the Dell outlet site?

Compare that ell 8100 to this new system:

hmmm.. I was just comparing it to this system:
iBUYPOWER Gamer Extreme WA547D3 Desktop PC with AMD Phenom II x4 965 Processor and Windows 7 Home Premium

GTX460 graphics card is a nice step up in gaming power for that 1920x1080 monitor.
And it's not used.
