Steps for installing a new card

This is my first time actually installing a new graphics card on an existing machine - all of
my previous experience has been with new builds. So I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly.


I'm switching out a defunct MSI 8800GTS card for a Zotac GTX 460 1GB.
From various earlier postings that I could find, I believe my order of operations are as follows:

Uninstall the current video card drivers
Reboot
Run driver sweeper for stragglers (obtained from the Guru3D site)
Turn off machine
Remove old card and insert new card
Power up and install new drivers

Am I missing anything or should I be doing something different?

That's exactly what you have to do, make sure to run driver sweeper from safe mode, or else some files will not be deleted properly.
