Couple questions regarding installing a new graphics card

Hi all,

I am shortly going to be adding a GPU to my computer (gtx 580) and making my current card (gtx 260) into a physx card. First, since I'm still going to be using the original card do I need to uninstall the current drivers. Second does it matter which slots the 2 cards are installed in or can I just put the new card in an open slot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and feel free to add any other tips you have since I'm pretty much a newbie to this stuff. Thanks in advance for any responses.

It is best to delete the drivers any way. About the slots depends on the motherboard but most boards have a primary slot where the main card should be.

Is your PSU (Power Supply Unit) capable of powering both cards and the rest of the system?

Thanks for the responses. My PSU is a 750W corsair. I was told in a different thread I should be good. Does that sound like enough?

Yes, it's more than sufficient.

They use the same driver so you shouldn't have to delete them. I'd probably try it first.

Both of the cards use the same drivers but if your current drivers are from before the release of the GTX 580 then you'll want to update them to the latest version.
