Hello,

I've been having issues with my tower that I built about couple of years ago. The problem is, whenever I try to watch a video/movie on this computer it shuts off in few minutes. I built that PC back in 2008 for gaming but I could never use it for that purpose because of this issue. I have tried to resolve it by adding more fans, cleaning up the inside of the tower but it seems like nothing works. Can anybody help me with this?

I used following to build my PC and I have used these parts as is (the power supply is 550W).

ASUS EN9600GT/HTDI/512M GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor BX80562Q6600
ASUS P5N-D LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model KVR800D2N5/1G
COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKA1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case Real Power Pro 550W Power Supply

All these parts were bought from Newegg.

Thanks,

So when you watch a video/movie.... hmmm. My guess is something is wrong with the video card. I wouldn't take my word for it though. Maybe some one with a higher tech level can help.
