I have a Dell Vostro 430 mini tower with the following dimensions:

Height: 370.40 mm (14.58 inches) with system feet
Width: 170.00 mm (6.69 inches)
Depth: 442.75 mm (17.43 inches)

Other specs: i7, 8GB RAM, upgraded 650W PSU.

The Question: What GPUs can fit in this tower?

Will cards like the 5770, 5830, 6870, 460, and 470 fit with no problems? Any thoughts on whether or not I have to add a slot cooling fan given the small tower config? Thanks.

i think the biggest card you could fit in that is around 8.5in which would make all the cards you mentioned not fit except for the 5770. another card that is about the same size as the 5770 is the gts250 however the 5770 is a little better then the 250
note: i dont really know the size of the inside of you pc but the 5770 would be verry verry close.
Can you tell me how much space you have from the inside of the back of the pc to the back of the harddrive?

About this much

Thanks. I guess the next step is to actually measure the GPU space and ask again unless anyone else has any suggestions. My default was the 5770 anyway but I was looking to beef up a bit more. Regardless, anything will beat the stock 310G that this box came with.

That's a 10.5 inch card in that photo, none of the cards you are considering are as large.
Any of them would fit, it's up to you.

Yeah, I have a 620W Seasonic PSU and a GTX 460 1GB SC in my Vostro 220 Mini and it works great! Also, just using stock cooling, but you may want a little more airflow for heavier gaming. BTW, the GTX 460 "fits like a glove" in my desktop, not sure how a GTX 470 would fit in a Vostro 220 Mini. ;)
