Quadcore or Hexacore?

What is best for gaming between:

- AMD Phenom x4 975 3,6 GHz, 6mb?
- AMD Phenom x6 1090 3,2 GHz, 9mb?

Don't include OC, because i am not doing that!

+1 to what PS3Hacker said even the 965 is better for gaming and much better value. If you want to overclock just get the 955 and a hyper 212+.

i have a good enough motherboard, and i am going to buy AMD because intel is to expensive.

pc specs:

- Processor: AMD Athlon x3 440 3 GHz
- Motherboard: MSI 870a-G54 motherbord
- Graphic Card: Msi Geforce GTX 560Ti
- Cooler master GX 650w

It is just the processor i need to upgrade.

the 955 quad is at $115 at newegg right now, you could overclock it to the 965 levels as they come with the same hetsinks

Stick with the 965 (if ur not gonna OC). The higher clocked ones like 975 aren't serious worth all the extra money....theres barely a few % imrovement in performance after the 965
