Hi "ALL",

After solving my heat problem on my i5/2500k (1st used an ANTEC H20 620-then Cosair H-50) NO REAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM BOTH, they took TEMPS down to around 29c - 30c idle and 45c - 51c load. :bounce:

I have now installed a "RASA" an 240mm radiator and temps are well down around low 20's.

But my question to you all is = does anyone know what to expect when overclocking the i5/2500k on a P8/H67M-PRO board??

Being NEW to the world of overclocking, any advise would be helpful.

I have only gone as far as 3.7ghz, but i keep reading about everyone getting 4,5ghz stable, day in day out.
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN HOW?? (in laymans terms)

THANKS

hi you cannot overclock on a H67 chipset motherboard, the only thing you can overclock on a H67 chipset motherboard is the integrated GPU. not the CPU. although ive heard that you can do a blck overclock. (but that will only get you to around 3.8ghz or so)

Hi,
Thanks for that, i had a feeling that was going to be the case,

I am kicking myself now, If i had paid another £40 i could of got myself a Sabertooth. :pfff:

Basicaly all you can do with the p8/h67m-pro is use the turbo boost in ASUS AI Suite.?

It seems i'll have to save once again and get a desent board

Thanks again.

i did overclock when i first got my PC tho, you can set the FSB to about 106/107 and with a multi of 38 (turbo boost) you can get to about 4.02Ghz.

All i can do is give it a go....

I think i will still get the Sabertooth though, seems a far better board alround, like i said i am kicking myself i did'nt get it to start with.

Thanks...

you could of got this P67 board for less than the price of the h67 board you bought:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/267321 (asus p67 pro, £82)
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/260485 (your board, £85)

Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda,

At the time, the H67m -pro (B3) was "NOT" £82 on ebuyer it was £105 (that is were i purchased it) pre-ordered coz of the ****-up with the chipset.

I should of researched it a bit more, but my P7H55, 1156, is able to overclock, so i assumed the P8H67 would aswell.

Also both of my graphics cards were tied up in p7p55-d-lx 1156,i5/750 and a p7p55 de-deluxe, i5/760 (soon for sale) board and accessories only no cpu)........

And as for the lower end Asus P8P67's they are real bad for overclocking, on most you "CAN NOT" adjust the CPU voltage manualy, i have family with Asus P8P67's and they are more or less saying "SHOULD OF GONE WITH THE SABERTOOTH".

Any board that knocks your "intel i5/i7 unlocked xmp memory back to 1333mhz is not worth buying" (i know now) :pfff:
