Penny wise and dollar dumb 6580 -5850 - 465?

Working on my second budget AMD gaming build for my kids. Original plans were build crossfire capable system and add second graphics card in the future. I've been kicking around either a 6850 or 5850 (those are pushing the budget). Tigerdirect has a MSI N465GTX TWIN FROZRII GeForce GTX 465 for $139.00 AR.

Should I stick to my original plans and purchase 6850 or 5850 or go after the $139.00 bargain and give up on future crossfire?

Especially if you're going crossfire get an HD6850. The GTX465 isn't a bad card, but it's a trash card. It uses more power, gets hotter, and makes more noise to offer the same performance.

thats a really good price for a 465 but yea you're comparing apples to potatoes 6850/5850 are better but for the price i'd go 465 and sell the 465 later for a crossfire system if you need an upgrade, i can't imagine a used 465 going for less than 100 in the next year- year and a half

Actually g00fy with the GTX560/GT(S?)550 coming out there will be, hopefully, a mainstream-level pricewar. I could imagine the GTX465 being phased out as production for GF100 stops as well.

why not gtx 460,almost as good as gtx 465 and comparable performance with 5850 and 6850.
