Trying to fix and upgrade a Shuttle

So I was given an old Shuttle SD39P2 that does not turn on anymore and I am looking to salvage it by:
1) find a new power supply for it
2) make a few upgrades

This will be given to another friend of mine so I wanted to know if anyone has experience with these small form factor units and what parts are compatible with the case.

I know it is possible to get a 450w PSU from shuttle for ~$100 but I'm not sure if there are other power supplies I could use as an external PSU that may be able to handle higher loads (better gfx card). The power supply connectors are listed on the following page:

I am also unsure of which graphics cards can fit. I know the 8800 gtx is said to be compatible but these are from sources a few years ago. Any suggestions on modern graphics cards that will fit?

Going from 2x1GB sticks to 4GB can I just add another 2x1GB kit?

Here are the current specs:

-Shuttle SD39P2 Case and motherboard
-Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6420 2.13Ghz FSB 1066mhz
-MSI NX7600GS-T2D256E GeForce 7600GS 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card
-GeIL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
-SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
-Liteon LH-20A1H 20X Internal Dual Layer DVDRW Super Allwrite & Lightscribe

Thanks for any information that can be provided.

More about trying upgrade shuttle
  1. Pull out the old supply and measure it. Then start looking for a replacement.
If you can get a 500-550W good named brand 80+ in there then a gtx 460 may fit if an 8800 did.
If you have to take the old power supply into a store just to compare thats fine they usually dont have any issue with that,
If you find a gtx 460 try to get one that vents to the rear.

The last one there is a 500 watt 80+ PC63J
Those are listed on the shuttle site. Im sure you can find that type some where else but who knows.
Looked some would really need the measurements
saw this even though it may not be a quality one

This is a write up on the original one that was in there.

Here is the 650 from their site dimensions 150x140x86mm

This is the dimensions of the 400watt they sell dimensions 120x125x63.5mm

This may fit if you can fit the 550 or the 650
