What do you mean 3D? As in the ones with glasses?
If so you don't really need a powerful card to watch 3D movies.
The thing is that if you want it to work with a nVidia card you need special stuff.
For an AMD/ATi card you can you use any 3D capable monitor but they are hard to come by in North America.

Thanks plznote,

Yes I mean with the 3D TV and the 3D glasses via HDMI 1.4a However I wold love to keep my gaming options open as well. So which ever is better at watching 3D movies (508 or 6970) would be perfect for me as I get more into gaming. So right now I'm only interreted in a sigle card. Duel cards are well in sight as well.

My rig is now being built. This is what I have so far.

Case: Cooler Master HAF X

Now all I need is the video card..

OK - Sounds good.

Right now I have a 58 inc. Plasma Panny (1080p). I was wondering would that be good to play games on? If not The viedo card would have to support to TV's one for games and one for movies.

What monitor is good for gamming?
