So the solution is for you to check and see what all programs are running.

Check the start-up programs. Disable (not delete) the ones that you don't need right away after startup. You will be amazed at the number of programs (some of which you do not even recognize) running in the background.

Goto start, run type taskmgr and hit enter or hit CTRL-SHIFT-ESC and bring up task manager, processes tab, check show processes for all users and sort by CPU. This will show you what is coming your CPU time.
