How to connect GTX 590 to PSU?

Hello,

I am not sure as to how to connect my GTX 590 to the PSU. It comes with a 4 pin connector split into 2 3 pin ports. The card has 4 x 2 ports. How should I connect it up?

Many thanks.

  1. What power supply do you have? Ideally you shouldnt need to use adapters at all, and if you do i would be concerned about if your PSU can handle that card, the GTX 590 sucks down a ton of power so if you dont have 2 8 pin PCI-e connectors already its a bit concerning.
  2. Ok. My PSU is 850 watts. I have 2 4 pin PCI-e connectors, but the squares and circle things don't line up. My PCI-e connector is 6 with a little 2 part coming from the cable. Should I plug in both my PCI-e connectors?

Yes, that power supply should have TWO 8pin PCI-E connectors. They're the 6+2 pin connectors you described. There should be 2! And you need to plug in BOTH of them into your GPU :) That's about it! Good luck!

  6. I think the game works fine on another graphics card I have... Should I RMA this gtx 590? :P
