AMD Phenom II x4 help

Hello all, i have used this sight many times when i have questions, however, this is the first time i have not found what im looking for. If this is posted somewhere else i apologize.

first off my relevant specs.

BIOSTAR Tpower n750 AM2/AM2+ <updated BIOS/Chipset>
Corsair 750 psu single rail
Patriot Viper DDR2 PCE-6400
PNY GTX 460
AMD Anthlon 64 x2 Dual Core 2.6MHz

Win7 x64

I wanted to upgrade my CPU to a AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz, Checked the BIOSTAR site, and the AMD Phenom II X4 955 was on the CPU compatibility list, so i ordered from newegg. popped it in, and nothing happened.

<the computer powers on> Nothing even boots up, no BIOS, no monitor/keyboard/mouse nothing... there are 5 lights on the motherboard regarding errors on diff parts of the mobo, and it hangs on the 3rd LED, the CPU light. So i RMA to newegg and will wait for another. also sent a mail to BIOSTAR with compatibility question. now...

talking to a friend he pointed out that the sSpec/OPN# on the BIOSTAR website and the one i got from new egg are not the same... i ordered HDZ955FBGMBOX, and the one on the BIOSTAR site is HDZ955FBK4DGI, I thought this was just the black version, and didnt make a difference, was i wrong?

Also i read somewhere that the stepping being C3 would have something to do with it, not much of an overclocker so im unfamiliar with certain things.

any incite would be greatly appreciated.
