I have an older Olmpus camera with a serial connection. I hate the
Camedia software that came with it. Does anybody know if AcDsee (or
any other software) will let me transfer images from the camera to my
system? Should I use a USB --> serial adapter (if there is such a
thing)?

Yes it can, also try using Irfanview, a free download
from www.irfanview.com

Hi Jim...
Provided that your computer has a usb port, and that
you're running win98se or higher, then what you need is
a card reader. If there's a few (about 10) dollars
left in the budget look at ebay for one.
Otherwise, google for came09 - you'll like it far, far
better than camedia for downloading via the serial port.

Getting a USB card reader will be the nicest option to use.
