Intel E5800 Core Duo

Hello everyone, I recently bought an E5800 cpu, and was getting some "weird" readings from coretemp.

Apparently at the same level of load in both cores (maybe 10% difference max) Core 1 Temp is around 43 and Core 2 Temp is 25.

Is this normal????

I was wondering maybe I applied the thermal paste wrong or something...

Does the Core 2 Temp fluctuate at all or is it stuck at 25c?

Up to 10c is normal for most cpu's, but 18c is not normal.

Try CPUID HW monitor. Google it.

It fluncttuated, however when I performed a stress test with 100% load on both CPU's Core 0 went to 46 and core 1 to 37, both max values. It just seems awkard, but maybe its just how the Core Duo Extreme's work

Try the program I suggested and compare that to what coretemp says.

I have never seen a 18c core difference on ANY cpu.

Yeah, 18c is definitely not normal.

Maybe try reseating that CPU and reapplying the thermal compound.
