Approximate Purchase Date: Asap, waiting on a better selection of 1155 mobos to be re-released on newegg.
Budget Range: 1.5-2k, I want something that will last awhile, if it means another $100-$200 for a massive boost in performance I don't mind spending a little extra.
System Usage: Hardcore gaming
Parts Not Required: No accessories really, maybe a new monitor would be nice but other that that I'm covered.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg
Parts Preferences: Intel 2500k
Overclocking: Yes
SLI or Crossfire: Yes
This is kind of what I've pieced together, not really set in stone but the setup looks alright to me, looking for thoughts and suggestions:
CPU: Intel I5-2500k
Mobo:Undecided, Asus P8P67 Pro most likley.
GPU: 2x Palit Geforce GTX 560 2G, Unsure on this, is the 2g worth it? Seems like a meager price to pay for double the memory.
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
PSU: Corsair HX 850W
SSD: One of the new Vertex 3 120gb drives if they come out in time.
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
Cooling: Corsair H-70, I know, it's way overkill but I like liquid cooling.
Case: Still deciding on this one, I'm thinking: Antec Nine Hundred
OS: Win7- Home Premium
DVD: Whatever is cheap, I will probably use it once or twice a year at most.
