I posted this in my old thread but since I basically changed everything I thought I would make a new one and hopefully everything looks good. Also is the 750W PSU overkill for this system or is that what I basically need?

Hello tjdavis;

Good motherboard options and estimated prices:
ASUS P8P67 PRO $190 / ASROCK Extreme4 $153 / GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD4 $190

CORSAIR 750TX is 'old school' these days. There is a V2 750TX out now and some really excellent options as well.
XFX Core Edition PRO750W / CORSAIR TX750 V2 / XFX XXX Black Edition 750W

750W is the right amount of power if you're thinking about a 2nd GTX 560 Ti in SLI at some point down the road.

I've never done any overclocking and this is the first PC i've built but out of curiousity, how much would a good CPU cooler cost? I was looking at the ASROCK Extreme4 but I couldn't find it online anywhere. Is it going to be listed in the near future?

The boards are going to show up on short notice and in limited quantities at first.
Because of the expected lower priced (based on what we saw before) the Asrock will be REALLY popular.
Having a pre-planned alternate choice(s) you're willing to take is a good thing.

OC'ing the K models is easy. And a decent CPU cooler doesnt have to cost a lot. CM Hyper 212+ CPU cooler $30
If you don't plan on overclocking - ever - and you think you'd probably not need a 2nd video card
you can think about a less expensive i5 2400 CPU & H67 motherboard

You don't happen to live near a MicroCenter store?

Nope I don't know of any in the area. If overclocking on the K model is easy, than I would like to at least have the option to OC after I learn a little more about how to do it. Anyways I really like the Asrock but since I can't find it anywhere, should I switch to something else or just check online over the next couple of days to see if its listed at all?

Then you'll want to stick with the K and the P67 boards.

You're not alone is wanting the Asrock. Besides checking NewEgg you'll want to browse Google Shopping to see if anyone else has any in stock.

Beware of 'pre-orders'. If you don't know the company, call and confirm they actually have them before you use the credit card.

Are there any motherboards out there comparable in performance and price to the ASRock Extreme4 P67 that are actually available now cause I was hoping to get everything ordered this week?

So basically I just need to check newegg frequently and whenever I see a P67 available regardless of manufacturer I should just buy it immediately? Sorry for the questions but I'm clueless on motherboards and it's the one thing holding me back from buying my PC.

Thanks for all your help. I guess I'm going to keep looking at motherboards because I really need to find one this week. If anybody finds one for $175 or less please provide a link cause I'm stuck as it is right now.

Which heatsink should I get and will it fit inside the case I have along with the other component I have? The Cooler Master Hyper 212 has a lot of reviews stating it is very difficult to install so I was slightly concerned about that. Any suggestions are fine but am trying to stay in the $30-$60 range.

Also, I'm inbetween the MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard and the ASRock P67 Extreme4. Should I take whichever is available first or is it worth waiting for one over the other?

I just saw that...so definitely go ahead and buy the MSI P67 over the ASRock P67 now?

Edit: I didn't want to risk missing out again so I went ahead and ordered the MSI P67 from newegg. Really didn't want till April to order everything so I hope I made the right decision! Thanks for your help; I'll go with that PSU and hope I can install it without too many problems

Watch a couple of the Hyper 212+ install videos.
As far as I could tell looking at the feedback on 'hard to install' it was the large size that was the issue and you basically have that same issue with every top performing CPU cooler.

I don't like telling people what to do but I would have done the same in your position.
