I have Lenovo Z565. Do not know exactly what MB.

System specs that I know:
Windows 7 64-bit
AMD M880G chipset
InsydeH20 BIOS
AMD Phenom II N660 CPU (I understand this is a form s1g4 style processor)
OEM 3GB RAM
Replaced with Crucial 8GB DDR3 1033MHz RAM (I think?) - whatever it is, it's compatible and has been running flawlessly for months...it was an upgrade in terms of speed from what came in it.
ATI Radeon HD 4250 GPU

AMD M880G chipset supports AMD Phenom II CPU's. This is a dual-core processor. I want to upgrade the CPU. I would, ideally like AMD N970 quad-core 2.2GHz CPU.

1) Will this MB support it?
2) Will this BIOS support it?
3) Am I screwed and just need to buy new laptop?

Thanks,
Trav

While the spec's say that the ram can be upgraded to the 8gb like you have it says nothing about the cpu and it would if the cpu was upgradeable to the quad cpu that you want. Laptops are not known for being upgrade friendly and uaually you can upgrade the ram and the video card and little else. So it would be my guess that the cpu cannot be upgraded to a quad core. You may be able to upgrade the cpu to a faster dual core.
I would try try tech support of the laptop and see what they say.
