Sudden problem with i7 2600k benchmark

I just opened my case to install another piece of 1600 Mhz RAM. I also tightened my CPU heatsink a little bit. After that I am getting lower benchmark scores for CPU on Windows Experiance Index and other benchmarks. I tried tightening the CPU heatsink again but its not helping. On WEI it went down from 7.6 to 7.2. Any suggestions?

My specs-

MSI P67A-GD65
Intel i7 2600k
Cooler Master 550W PSU
GTX 560 Ti Graphics card
Corsair Vengeance 4 GB x 2

What other benchmarks are you using? WEI really isnt a benchmark, i get variable scores when i run it multiple times in a row, and all benchmarks are sensitive to background tasks, so if you are running it right after boot its going to do a bit worse than if you let things stabilize for a bit and finish all their start up/update routines.

Try running other benches to see if they match up. Mine was 7.6 stock speed, 7.8 OC

Make sure you have the two sticks of RAM in the correct slots for running dual channel....
