How to: build complete ships in space

Hi,

I'm playing the COM and I have attempted my first space build of a ship
with the Aries. This ship does have the ability to build hulls of any
sort in space, but once the ship was built, it came out void of
engines, weapons or shields. I have heard a little bit on this topic
before and some people say "those that don't know how to build complete
ships in space don't deserve to build them". I believe that is a bogus
mentality considering that we are playing a game.

I have read through the news groups to no avail and even checked out
Tim's site. Nowhere do I find anything specific pertaining to this
topic directly.

If anyone has any specific information for me, it would be greatly
appreciated.

It is... and it works.

Quickbuild worked for me in the past. But you must have the minerals and
MC on board of the ship for the hull and all parts. And as QB works before
transfer, transfer don't count in this case. And it not used parts which
are stored in Pods.

Not sure at the moment, if the Build screen of the ship can build equipped
ships.

After you give the build order, you get a "pending order" for the building
ship and you can check it like for Bases (how many waepons, engines,.. but
not which).
