Approximate Purchase Date: This summer (July-August)

Budget Range: $800 - $1100

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Rendering HD Videos for making montages/commentaries on video games, Photoshop, Gaming

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com, Tigerdirect.com

Country of Origin: United States

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: AMD or Intel, whichever gives best performance for the money

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Later on

Monitor Resolution: 1600 x 900 is what it is right now. Do you need a better monitor to get higher resolution settings?

Additional Comments: I don't really need all the case lighting and all that fancy stuff. Mainly focused on performance. Also I have a 1TB Fantom Drives External hardrive if that counts for anything.

Hi there,

Performance for money, I would give my win to AMD, though that is really up to you, with your budget I'd suggest one of the Phenom X6 Series, or a cheaper Sandybridge processor. Extra RAM would probably help with Photoshop, and at 1600 x 900 for gaming I would choose a GTX 460 or HD 5850.

Just suggestions.

Cheers.

You could check out my 1K build in my siggy. You could probably save some money on the GPU since your only at 1600x900, the 6850 or the 460 GTX would be good enough.

Top of the line Phenom II X6 1100T (230$) vs i5 2500K (230$)

You'd benefit MUCH more from an SB build rather than Phenom X6 build since your video editing. If you can't find the Asrock Extreme4 P67 that is because they release during mid this month or next month.
