Memory for ibm family 6 model 8

I tried to order memory for ibm x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 6 computer

ordered this

2 X 512MB PC133 SDRAM 168pin 1GB PC 133 Desktop MEMORY

they said it was not compatible
can you tell me why it is not compatible?
and how can I tell what memory I need?
I cannot find my exact computer in no look ups for memory
and I have no manual

I got this info by going to control panel - systems - and looking under computer

it looks like Machine Type 6578 also says pbu after the 6578
