What brand processor dose a 478 socket receive on a ASUS motherboard

Hello,I have a asus mptherboard installed in a gamming computer . This thing has everything . It has a 478 socket . Would that mean it has a amd processor init ?

That's a socket for an old Intel Pentium 4.

What they said... it's a pretty old, definitely out dated socket. If you need help with upgrades you can find it here. There's a sticky about how to ask for advice - things like including system specs, budget, expectations etc...

In a desktop environment the socket 478 was used for Intel® Pentium® 4 and Intel Celeron® processors with a 400, 533 and 800MHz FSB. Socket 478 was ended with the release of the LGA 775. In laptops we would continue to use a different pin out 478 for some time.
