Hello!
My name is Andrew and i am new to the site..
lets jump right in..

i am looking to build a lightning fast computer..
- web browsing
- i want it to be able to handle games if i choose to play (low settings is fine)
- occasional photo editing
- multitasking (music, videos, etc..)

i was looking to spend around $500

(assuming that i have OS, key's, mouse, screen)

hows this look?

Part are compatible, though I'd recommend going with an athon ii x4, or x3 instead of the phenom ii x2.

This combo for instance Athlon Ii x4 and biostar mobo

If you're at less than 1080p, you can grab the 768mb version and save some money.

everything is compatible... however i'd recommend going with a quad-core with no L3 cache (Athlon II), over the dual-core Phenom II... you could also save a little on different RAM:

- AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz: $100

- Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333: $40

or

- G.SKILL 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600: $48
